The Rules

Rule No. 01
Our Principles.
For everything we do, we are ALWAYS driven by User Experience. It's why we're here.
Rule No. 02
Our Product.
Let's do what we do best. We have fantastic resources for the rest. It's the most effective way to do an amazing job right, the first time. Our Process MUST be adhered to, no matter the timing.
Rule No. 03
Our People.
We focus on the strengths of our people. We discover their brilliance and celebrate it. Here, initiative is key. We realize that most people who are REALLY smart in digital are self-starters. We give our people an awesome opportunity to make as much of an impact and splash as they want. This agency is what we all want it to be.
Rule No. 04
Be Committed.
We demand that our employees make a commitment to 4ORCE. From the time you walk into our offices, we want everything (and more) that you can offer. We ask for both your heart and mind. Be passionate about us. Support us. Half way and halting approaches just don't work for 4ORCE. Push yourself. Push those around you.
Rule No. 05
Embrace Your Role. Be A Rockstar.
We need everyone to be a Rockstar at his or her position. Every job within the agency is vital. None is more important than another. To create amazing work, you must be in tune with those around you.Lead by example. Keep your eyes on your own paper. Don't worry about what someone else is doing. At 4ORCE, everything we do (especially the small stuff) contributes to our success, growth and the bottom line. Embrace and live your role to the fullest. Never, ever "phone it in."
Rule No. 06
Don't Be Something You Are Not.
Be self-actualized enough to know what you're good at and what you're not. Don't worry, we don't expect people to be great at everything.Be honest enough with yourself and those around you to be really outstanding at something and not waste your time, agency resources and the client's money trying to jam a square peg in a round hole. Also, because we are each unique, be sure to leverage the skills of those around you. If someone is good at something, take advantage of it. Find out how they can help you make your work sparkle.
Rule No. 07
Be Curious.
Though each of us should "own" our individual roles within the agency, we do encourage you to be curious about learning new skills. Research, ask, find out more during your down time. Your curiosity will only enhance your value to the agency and those around you.
Rule No. 08
Be A Team Player.
Mutual Respect is REQUIRED—As Patrick Swayze’s legendary character Dalton in the 1989 cult favorite “Road House” said,
“If somebody gets in your face and calls you a [CENSORED], I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk. Be nice. If he won’t walk, walk him. But be nice. If you can’t walk him, one of the others will help you, and you’ll both be nice. I want you to remember that it’s a job. It’s nothing personal.”
The glue that holds successful agency teams together isn't just talent. Sure, we want incredibly talented folks here at 4ORCE, but we need more than that if we are going to build a successful agency "machine." To create that, we need to honestly care about each other, our clients and the agency.
Recycled humor, degrading jokes and/or incessant sarcasm have no place at 4ORCE. Please, be empathetic and aware of what your co-workers are working on. You will be amazed by what they add to the mix. And please don't be strangers, Find out their favorite restaurant, music, film or their funniest high school memory. In short, be a pal and never hesitate to reach out with a question, kind word or a cold soda.
And, pitch in to help on anything – no job is too menial for anyone.
Rule No. 09
Stop. Hammertime.
Innovation and progress is borne of a firm desire to always improve and build on the past. If you see something that isn't working for you, STOP and ask about it. There may be a great reason for why it's set up that way. But perhaps not. Always step up with your suggestion, criticisms and thoughts in a clear, succinct, solutions-oriented manner. You will be heard. On the other hand, although constructive criticism can propel us forward and we do want an agency environment where we have an open flow of ego-free exchange, please make sure that your criticisms are just that: constructive. These should never be personal attacks, immature rants or self-serving diatribes. Always step to the mic with a thoughtful approach in mind. You'll feel better at the end of the day and you'll be helping to build a stronger 4ORCE team.
Rule No. 10
Let Go.
Whether it's brilliant thinking in brainstorming sessions or ideas for our company, be willing to let your ideas die. No matter how much sense they make to you, if they don't resonate with others, they may need to be refined, or simply they're just not right for a particular solution. Let go of them. Nothing wastes more time than repeatedly convincing someone that an idea isn't the right one. We just need everyone to hear the proverbial "will of the tribe" and move on.That's the great thing about great ideas. You can always make more.
Rule No. 11
Listen.
Look around. There are mentors all around you. Listen to them and respect what they bring to the table. Use their life-lessons and experience to make your day easier. Understand that they absolutely have your personal growth, the growth of the agency and the client need firmly set in mind. Always. Build on what they have to offer. You'll have a better product and hopefully you've saved yourself some grief getting there.
Rule No. 12
Be Joyful.
Let's all remember what a kick-ass business we're in. We could be selling insurance or cleaning cages at the zoo. Although there is absolute dignity in these jobs (in all work), let's face it - as creative industry folks, we would go crazy doing them. We create cool stuff and help it get into the marketplace. That's just awesome. Let's act like it. Be excited and joyful in your work. This is non-negotiable and should be the easiest and most natural part of your job.
Rule No. 13
Respect.
We have ZERO tolerance for sexual harassment.
Rule No. 14
Take Care.
4ORCE operates a firm “don’t drink and drive policy” pertaining to company business. We will never question cab fares – we will not tolerate drunk driving. 4ORCE is a drug-free environment.
